The business card is not the same as the business card. Cardboard boxes may differ in many elements – shape, color, etc., and above all, design. In this entry you will see where the imagination can take the creators of business cards, which assumptions should be chic and elegant.
1. First, a real business card from the early 20th century. Something for those inspired by the retro style, from before the times of the ubiquitous Comic Sans, which somehow became one of the favorite fonts of our times. It is worth paying attention to the advertising slogan and engraving included in the business card. Certainly, at one time, making such a business card required a lot of effort, but today we can do it easily online.
2. A to przykład na to jak można wykorzystać inspiracje oldskoolem we współczesnym kartoniku. Połączenie usług IT z tresurą lwów? Czemu nie! Wszystko w secesyjnych obramowaniach, a do tego wykonane techniką tłoczenia. Wypukłości to jedna z metod na szyk.
3. Nobody said that elegance is only about referring to classic patterns. It is primarily a sense of style often combined with minimalism. That’s probably why Apple’s foldable storefront is like its products. And in this case, I didn’t mean the excessive price.
4. A truly noble example. If business cards had not been used exclusively by the Japanese before the 19th century, a similar design would certainly have prevailed among our Sarmatians. A convex, quite large logo and the rough texture of the paper make this card a business card that even a prince would be proud of.
5. Elegance is not only good style, but in some cases also discretion. One headhunter came up with the idea of making edible business cards. Some information is better kept to yourself, and where better to get rid of the data than in your own stomach? Approx. Maybe there could be a few other places, but it wouldn’t be as much fun. Enjoy your meal.
6. Something more serious. Elegant business cards don’t have to be made of paper. An appropriate design on plastic makes the „box” more prestigious. At the same time, you can play around with the possibilities offered by the transparency of the material. What’s more, such business cards are no longer a whim of the rich, anyone can order similar ones for a reasonable price.
7. Did I mention business cards that anyone can afford? In this case, none of that. I can guarantee you don’t have one. Unless you’re a famous Holywood star, a world leader or someone else super elite (if so, leave a comment). The most expensive business card in the world, studded with diamonds and created only for the chosen ones, we admit that it is elegant, although perhaps a little excessive.
8. Similarly to the above, we have already mentioned these business cards on our blog. Each card is filled in by hand by a French graphic designer. It must be admitted that it is quite an interesting idea, and its customers certainly enjoy the elegance. On the other hand, they cannot count on receiving 500 business cards two days after placing the order.
9. A reference to retro style, maybe not from a century ago, but from two decades ago. A business card in the shape of a cassette may appeal due to its minimalist design and creative use of printing methods.
10. Business card from a private detective. It requires the client to conduct his or her own mini-investigation. What if I cover this white, seemingly empty box with the special powder used by Sherlock Holmes? This is the address to the investigator! I didn’t expect this. Or the fact that in the last scene the murderer turns out to be the butler.
11. If you want it to be elegant, you can’t do without a suit (at least for men). And if there’s going to be a bald man in the suit, why not replace it with a thumb? Don’t ask me where graphic designers get such ideas. Anyway, something creative.
12. Probably the most popular calling card in the history of cinematography.A famous scene from the movie American Psycho shows what a business card should look like from the top floor of a Manhattan office building. Attention! Small subtleties in the font and shade of paper can trigger jealousy and murderous desire.
