When entering the labor market, not only as an employee, but also as an employer, we must take care of the appropriate image of the company. Personal branding, i.e. building our reputation, is still a little-known term in Poland, but as it turns out, it is very important.
What is personal branding?
Until recently, this term was reserved for public figures – stars or politicians, but now it is also often used by managers who want to strengthen their company’s position on the market. Politicians and celebrities owe their success to a large extent to personal branding – often supported by teams of advisors and consultants. This is also particularly important in the case of new companies that are just starting their operations – for them, a good reputation is essential. According to research, as many as 70% of purchasing decisions are made impulsively and spontaneously, so image is the key to success.
Start at school
Taking care of our image should start during our education. This increases our chances on the labor market – we can get our dream job easily. How to do it? It all depends on the industry, but making useful contacts, taking part in trainings or meetings, as well as internships will certainly be a plus for a future employer, but above all, they will expand our skills, which is the most important value for a job seeker. Image and brand are things that need to be constantly taken care of. Perceiving them is a process that takes many years, in a careful and thoughtful way, so we must try not to waste it with one ill-considered move.
